Horsemen Announce Plans to Pause After 6 Seasons, Preparing for a New Chapter in 2027
Meridian, ID — 09/5/2025 — After six exciting seasons at the Ford Idaho Center, the Idaho Horsemen professional indoor football team has announced they will go dormant for the 2026 season as part of a strategic plan to prepare for a new era, beginning in 2027.
The National Arena League (NAL) Board of Directors has approved the organization’s decision to pause operations for one year to create a stronger foundation for the team’s next chapter in a new location.
“We understand that teams taking a year off face challenges, and some never return,” said Chris Reynolds, Owner of the Horsemen. “But this is not the end. Our goal is to build something bigger and better, and we’ll continue working closely with the NAL to show the progress every step of the way.”
Since launching in 2019, the Horsemen have built a passionate and loyal fan base while establishing themselves as a competitive force around the arena football world. This decision reflects a long-term vision to grow the team and its impact both on and off the field in the new location.
The Horsemen will provide updates throughout the remainder of 2025 and the 2026 NAL season, keeping fans and partners informed as plans for the team’s future take shape.
