by The Posse insider

Nampa, ID - The Idaho Horsemen started their 2023 season with an outstanding victory against the visiting Las Vegas Kings on Sunday, April 2nd. In a blowout game, the Horsemen dominated in every aspect of the game, winning with an impressive score of 70-12.

From the very start of the game, the Horsemen took control in all three phases of the game, offense, defense, and special teams. The quarterback, Austin Schaffer, had complete control of the offense, throwing five touchdown passes and scoring one rushing touchdown. Schaffer played until the middle of the third quarter before being relieved by TJ Craig, who also threw a touchdown pass.  The offensive line held firm all night allowing Schaffer to go practically untouched.

The receiving corps had an outstanding performance, with almost every receiver getting into the end-zone at least once. Ryan Stokes and Kyler Henson led the way with four of the Horsemen's receiving touchdowns. Henson scored three touchdowns before leaving the game with an injury, while Stokes had two catches for 63 yards and two touchdowns.

The Horsemen's defense was also exceptional, holding the Kings scoreless until the fourth quarter and only giving up 12 points throughout the entire game. The defense also had an impressive performance, with Rashad Flanders, Brennyn Dunn, and Abraham Logan each intercepting a pass, while Nicolas Cade scored a safety. The defense also scored a touchdown, with Jack Domen recovering a fumble for a score, and Nate Holloway blocking a kick for another touchdown.

One of the AWFC's electrifying players, Rashad Flanders, continues to never disappoint the crowd by taking another kickoff back to the house. Flanders continues to prove to be a significant special teams asset throughout his tenure with the Horsemen.

Overall, it was an outstanding performance by the Idaho Horsemen, who showcased their strength in all areas of the game. The team's fans were thrilled with the outcome of the game, and it's safe to say that the Horsemen have set the bar high for the rest of the season.
